Unhelpful or Not Working?

Ranty Mc-Fucking-Rant is back.
Why is it people contact me when they're in my bar and clearly I'm not, then ask me what's good?
Then they get a sulk on and call me unhelpful when I'm on my day off and don't bother racking my brains to figure out what may or may not be in the fridge when they're probably standing in front of the bloody thing!
It's one of the few things I really hate about my job. Surely it would be easier and quicker to ask the member of staff who is standing right in front of them?
Seriously, would you like it if you got called unhelpful on your day off?!

Ah, the 'always on' culture of the 2000s. It's horrendous. I don't think you're alone in experiencing this sort of thing, but it must be particularly acute and annoying at times for your good self.

Digital communication and social media have enriched our lives in many ways, but unfortunately it means we're forever connected to the entire world.

Maybe you could get someone to pretend to be you online on your days off?

Or maybe you could somehow automate responses to say 'Duchesse de Bourgogne'?

haha, brilliant! I'm looking into that right now!

Is it really that annoying?

Surely 'i'm not at work mate so not sure' would suffice? or just don't reply.

Neil, you'd think that would work but I did point out that I wasn't there, then I got called unhelpful. How's that even remotely correct?
The fact that I had the courtesy to reply just got me an insult.
That's what's annoying.

PPT, I'm a nice bloke, you know that. I just don't respond well to stupid questions followed by insults.

Perhaps you should go somewhere else on your day off?

Wait a minute. Were you IN the pub when they asked you this question? I'd assumed it was via twitter?

I wasn't in the pub, I was about two miles away from it!
