Drunk Diary, Day Thirty

Penultimate day of this pap. almost a day off drinking after yesterdays crawl but taking it easy instead. Still these Kernel Black IPA's are going down an absolute treat today, far too easy to drink them.

4 x Kernel Black IPA, 6.8% abv, 330mls, Units : 8.96

Day Thirty Units : 8.96

One. More. Day. Phew!

It seems nuts when "taking it easy" is more than twice the recommended maximum safe daily limit.

And I can't disagree that you were "taking it easy" by comparison with what most drinkers would regard as any kind of heavy session.

These recommendations must be routinely breached by just about everyone who drinks.

In fact, the whole social convention surrounding the pub seems entirely incompatible with these recommendations.

Are the limits wrong or do drinkers need to reset to a "1 pint and then home" reality?

All very good points. Because after a pint and a half of Stella for example, you're nearly on 4.5 units, hardly binge drinking.
With the current Nanny State in operation though, I can't see these levels being reviewed or changed any time soon.
I guess I'll have to be labelled a binge drinker and not worry too much about it. Does make you realise how easy it is to rack up the units though. Cheers for the comment.
